Meet Dr. David Brennan – GP with a Special Interest in Skin Cancer Medicine. Dr. David Brennan is a General Practitioner with a special interest in skin cancer medicine and early diagnosis.
He graduated from University College Dublin with first class honours and was awarded the MacKennis Gold Medal in Clinical Medicine. He completed his postgraduate GP training through the Trinity College/HSE GP Training Scheme. |

His interest in skin cancer began while practising in New Zealand, where early access to skin checks is standard. Since then, Dr. Brennan has undertaken extensive training in dermoscopy and skin cancer diagnosis in the UK, Austria, and through Bond University in Queensland, Australia.
He was awarded the PCSA Ross Ardill Prize for his work on melanoma diagnosis in primary care. He has significant experience in independent skin cancer practice, having worked with SkinCheck Ireland before founding SkinScan. |

Dr. Brennan is committed to ongoing professional development, with continuous education and training through accredited bodies in Ireland and internationally.
He is a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP), the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI), The International Dermoscopy Society and the Primary Care Dermatology Society of Ireland. Dr Brennan splits his time between SkinScan and his GP practice in Ballyhale, Co. Kilkenny. |
He is actively involved in GP research with UCD and serves as a Trainer on the South East HSE GP Training scheme. Originally from Kilkenny, he now lives in Tramore, Co. Waterford with his wife and their four sons.
